Compassion's Survival efforts focus on the health and development of children in the womb, offering support to pregnant mothers through a mentoring relationship with a Survival Implementer. Mothers and caregivers receive holistic education and guidance about their children’s development, as well as access to health resources throughout pregnancy and their child’s first five years of life. This support ensures parents and caregivers are equipped to provide a healthy foundation from which children can grow and achieve outcomes well into the future.
A New Approach to Curriculum
The Survival and Early Childhood curriculum has been redesigned to support new Survival outcomes for pregnant mothers, supporting caregivers and babies. The new curriculum includes two versions for ages 0-1: Global Resource Curriculum (GRC) and CareGroup (CG) model curriculum, which is comprised primarily of illustrations. For ages 1-3, an enhanced CareGroup model will be offered.
Both versions strongly emphasizes the spiritual growth of mothers and their families through a new Spirit-led approach called Growing in God’s Love. Every lesson invites the whole family—mother, father and extended family members—to receive God’s love for themselves, so they can naturally bear the fruit of protecting and nurturing their children. The curriculum is centered on the belief that God’s loving presence is the true source of holistic life change. Families learn how to invite the Holy Spirit’s guidance and prayerfully reflect on the heart’s role in practicing and accepting new behaviors.
The redesigned curriculum features custom illustrations tailored to each of Compassion's three main regions. To preview and download regionally specific resources, start by clicking on a region below.
Survival has the power to transform the environment and relationships that surround a child, leading to greater confidence and success in school, in relationships and in life.
